Top 5 Video Games of 2016

2016 was a huge year for the gaming community as developers released some of the most anticipated games to date. Whether you’re a fan of post-apocalyptic worlds or World War I, 2016 had a game for you that was guaranteed to keep you up all night with a controller in hand.

As gameplay graphics continue to drastically improve, there has become a whole new standard of games looking realistic and actually feeling like you’re in the game.

Somehow, developers continue to think of new storylines and create these mind-boggling games that make you wonder how no one had thought of that before. And thankfully, it has become easier than ever to get ahold of new games and start playing them right away.

With much excitement for the coming games in 2017, I’ve compiled a list of the top five video games in 2016. Check out the list below to see if you’ll be needing to buy any news games soon, or if your already favorite game is on the list.

5) Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End
While Uncharted 4 may not be the best one of the series, it is certainly one of the best games to land in 2016 and has some of the best graphics ever seen on a video game console.

It’s an action-packed game with a rousing storyline of brotherhood and betrayal, as well as a fitting end to the story of Nathan Drake. The games single-player mode is rightfully the center of attention, but the multiplayer mode is great as well, especially Survival Mode.

4) DOOM
While also being the fourth game of a series—like Uncharted 4—DOOM chose to drop the “4” and just keep the main series title. Whether you liked this or not, there is no denying the awesomeness and true beauty within this game.

DOOM is a gory, frenetic and ingenious demon-killing game full of big guns, giant demons and huge maps filled with secret passages and bloody battles.

3) Overwatch
The developers over at Blizzard absolutely killed it with this game. From the colorful cast of characters to the constantly expanding maps and a rotation of weekly arcade modes, this game is almost too much fun.

2) Titanfall 2
The developers at Respawn blew all expectations out of the water with Titanfall 2 and won over the hearts and minds of many skeptical gamers and franchise fans.

The single-player campaign is what created all the buzz and rightfully so. From its impeccable gunplay to exhilarating boss-fights, Titanfall 2 is a game that if you don’t already have, then what the hell are you doing?

1) Battlefield 1
Easily my favorite game of 2016, Battlefield 1 quickly gained praise and attention from gamers all over. It’s timeframe of World War I created a gameplay like none other and bestowed weapons upon its users that were commonly used throughout the first Great War.

It’s impeccable multiplayer modes, visuals, sound design and single-player campaign are heavily responsible for a copy of the game being in nearly every gaming household. Whether you’re playing on X Box or Playstation, Battlefield 1 is a must-have.
